Your license to use the Software expires 120 days after installation (or such other period as indicated by the Software) and the Software may cease to function. In the event that the Software is a beta release or pre-release version, the terms of this Section shall apply. I may be interpreting this incorrectly, but are you saying this doesn't prove the multis don't exist as this could have been created from a 2-track stereo tape source (like the Beatles Rockband Cedar extractions), or a later reduction mix?Ĭlick to expand.Yep below is the PC(beta release as that is all they have now) part from the user agreement you have to agree with to buy the program. The result is an incredible play-along experience! Jammit engineers painstakingly re-create the sound of the final mix using the original multi-track recordings that we all know and love. As musicians ourselves, we know the difference between a copy and the real thing.and you will too. Jammit formatted content is derived only from the original master recordings and not re-recorded cover versions. Why does Jammit only use the original recordings of songs? For example, the guitar version of a Jammit-authored song will allow you to adjust the level of the guitar independent from the rest of the mix. Jammit software gives you this type of control over the element in the mix that you want to isolate and learn to play. Jammit songs are created from the original multi-track master tapes that have individual control over each instrument. Jammit is the first music software solution that isolates individual audio tracks from the original multi-track masters spanning the history of popular music from the 1960s to present. This is consistent with all tracks I have looked at for Yes and a few other bands. There are 8 tracks for what is on Jammit. There are clips on YouTube advertising these tracks (can't find the link as I'm at work, sorry), but they seem to suggest that the instruments are all fully isolatable, too.īear in mind, the software is a bit like Rock Band and the like - it simplifies the tracks down to one (or sometimes 2) parts for each instrument played, rather than doing a straight one part per track on the original session tape, so there'll inevitably be some combining of tracks here, but I'm still confident they've come straight from the holy grail itself I can't vouch for any of the other instrumental tracks yet, but so far I've heard nothing to suggest this ain't the real deal. I've only had time to listen to the keyboard stem for Siberian Khatru so far, and on that there's 2 separate keyboard tracks, with fully isolated keyboard parts on each. Stems then it might be a bit limited as to what can be done, but then more of the originalĬharacter of the album would remain intact.Ĭlick to expand.I may be interpreting this incorrectly, but are you saying this doesn't prove the multis don't exist as this could have been created from a 2-track stereo tape source (like the Beatles Rockband Cedar extractions), or a later reduction mix? I think there is certainly enough to do some kind of surround mix. It was a transfer of the original 16 tracks or if they were supplied with stems for the ease I guess it remains to be determined what the folks at Jammit were supplied with whether

Whether they are on the actual tracks with the vocals/instruments, or recorded separatelyĪs "wet" signals on their own tracks, I have no idea. I can tell you that all the original tracks have what appear to be the original reverbĪnd delay's used along with them, which means they were recorded right to tape. You can hear the notes played as well has what effects they've added to the insturment. Hearing them in isolation, or without the main vocals playing It's interesting to hear guitar or keyboard parts that were always there in the song but That you can control the volume/balance of the tracks or mute them altogether. The same is done with vocals, backing vocals, bass, guitars, keybaordsĮtc.so each group has it s own sub mix than you can control with one fader on a console.ĭepending on which version of the song you buy, you will get the instrument as 1-2 tracksĪnd the rest of the instruments on another backing track. You would have say 4-8 channels/tracks for each part of a drum kit that are mixed down
